To provide a virtual computing system (virtual machines for training and continuous use) a specialized server room has been created at CIT. This is a modern, powerful computing complex that provides constant, round-the-clock and uninterrupted operation, supports integrated access to the network and creates conditions for high-quality work of students in remote mode. The basis of the complex consists of:
- several powerful two-processor servers;
- a specialized uninterruptible power supply system;
- several specialized network routers.
All servers operate on the basis of VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon and Microsoft Windows Server systems. In order to increase the performance of the computing system, a cluster was created with support for the possibility of gradually increasing computing power. The total volume of the cluster is:
- 96 Intel Xeon processor cores;
- over 350 GB of RAM;
- over 60,000 GB of disk space from 8 drives.
