Scientific research

The Educational and Scientific Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies (NN IMIT) was established on December 1, 2007. The institute is the heir to the traditions and spirit of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. (for general information about scientific activities - see the university website)

The institute's teachers take an active part in the world scientific life and actively cooperate with Precarpathian National University named after Vasyl Stefanyk (Ukraine); University of Deusto (Spain); AGH University of Science and Technology (Poland), University of Cyprus (Cyprus); Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University (Ukraine); Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky Hryhoriy Skovoroda Pedagogical University (Ukraine); Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University (Ukraine); South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky (Ukraine) and many others.

The Institute is a participant in scientific and international projects. Recently, institute employees have participated in:

  • 2023-2024. international project of cooperation and support of the University of Bath (Great Britain);
  • 2021-2024 - Scientific project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine "Free Lode structures and monoids of endomorphisms";
  • 2022-2024 - Scientific project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine "Implementation of the tasks of the perspective development plan of the scientific direction "Mathematical Sciences and Natural Sciences";
  • 2023р - a memorandum was signed with the Civil Research and Development Fund of the United States - CRDF USA
  • 2023 - international project G-202301-69860 – - Promotion of the Cyber Hygiene E-Learning course at the State Institution "Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University" (Civil Research and Development Fund of the United States - CRDF USA) - implementation of training courses and modules on cyber hygiene;
  • 2023 – international project G-202301-69859 – Integration of new Cybersecurity course into the Curriculum of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (Civilian Research and Development Fund of the USA – CRDF USA) – development and implementation of a course on information security when using state digitalization tools;
  • 2022- 2023 – UNDP project No. 4019-08 within the framework of the agreement ENI/2018/398-605 – EU Support for Eastern Ukraine – Restoration, Strengthening Peace and Governance;
  • 2017-2021 – international project Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education with the Use of Innovative Teaching Tools (MoPED – №586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP) within which modern methods and teaching methodologies using modern information technologies were introduced.
  • In 2017, the Cisco Networking Academy Program, the world's first training program from an IT vendor, was founded. Our university is a Cisco Academy partner

Thanks to the accumulated experience in using virtual resources and network technologies ERIMIT employees took an active part in the work of the Luhansk Regional State Administration in 2024-2025 in order to develop a regional program and project for informatization of the Luhansk region. By order of the Head of the Regional State Administration - Head of the Regional Military Administration dated 10.07.2024 No. 132 “On the Creation of a Scientific and Technical Council for the Regional Program and Project for Informatization”, a Scientific and Technical Council of the Program was created.

Active scientific and project activities at the MIT Research Institute have allowed to create  the Myrhorod Center for IT Solutions and improve conditions for organizing educational and scientific activities, all necessary material, technical and software support were completely restored and innovative conditions were created for training future specialists in information technologies and physical and mathematical sciences.

An important and powerful part of the research of ERIMIT employees is devoted to the study of such algebraic systems as digroups, semigroups and groups, graphs, n-fold semigroups, doppelsemigroups and demonoids. The results of the work have theoretical significance as such, which are a contribution to the further development of the theory of universal algebras, in particular, the theory of groups and demonoids. They can be applied to the study of the structure of various classes of algebras.
n addition, the scientific activity of ERIMIT is associated with the study of physical and mechanical fields in polymers and composites, the use of information technologies in various fields of science, technology, economics and education, in particular: system analysis and modeling of technical, economic, social and other processes and objects; research of discrete mathematical structures and combinatorial schemes; quality management of distance learning in higher education institutions; application of information technologies in educational activities. The results of the research work of the teachers are used in teaching information disciplines in many areas of study at the LNU.
The employees of the NNIMIT actively participated in the modeling and development of technology and processes for the automated creation of products from composite materials (CM). However, after the open armed aggression of the Russian Federation, all the equipment was lost

The Educational and Scientific Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies includes:
